Until recently I have been a bit sceptical about getting private insurance in the UK because the health service is free anyway. What changed my mind about this was the fact that my cousin took out private health insurance when she started her career and only a few months after she started getting intense pains and got her appendix removed. She got her own private room instant care and there was no waiting time in A and E because she had health insurence. Lucky her! I think I might join her on the private insurance band wagon!
